My first work - Emily

Well I put quite a bit of thought into what "my first work" would be. This was not the first thing I ever painted, in fact its not even close to the first thing I ever painted. It is preceded by apples, oranges, various still lives, and even a few landscapes. It is the only painting I have ever painted and kept for myself, it is also the first time in my work that we see my stubbornness and rebellion. Note that the name and date are in electric blue paint that matches nothing else in the painting. My teacher at the time was really ticking me off by not letting me do what I wanted to my painting, so as pay back I signed it in the most obnoxious color I could find. She wasn't too happy with me, but I made my point and I love this painting dearly.
