Where I'm From & Artwork

Where I'm From Poem
I am from Barbie doll houses, so brightly colored and plastic.
I am from closets filled with baby dolls and assorted boxes of frilly doll clothes.
I am from stereos, constantly playing Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera on repeat.
I am from diaries with pages filled with the names of all my childhood crushes.
I am from the hand-me-downs of an older sister.

I'm from a family without a father, taken by the Grim Reaper.
I'm from a single mom, carrying my brother and I strongly.

I am from tapes, CDs, iPods, and concerts.
I am from festivals, tutus, and fuzzy boot covers.
I am from electronic dance music and the sounds of Anthony Green.
I am from astrology, forever explaining Capricorns.

I am from shelves upon shelves of art supplies.
I am from crayons, colored pencils, and markers.
I am from these moments and memories.

My First Artwork
Although this is not technically the first piece of artwork I ever created, I believe it is the first one that I was truly proud of.
