I Am From & Artwork

I Am From

I am from Grandma’s cooking,
Where tortillas and carne fill my tummy

I am from rocky roads and train tracks are playgrounds,
And getting into trouble is the norm

I am from cuts and bruises,
Where crying isn’t allowed

I am from soccer and green grass
Where Spiderman is my name

I am from uneducated to the first graduate
From the proud and loving

I am from a loud mouthed and crazy
A place I would never change

  1. Kyle, nice work. In class next Monday I will ask you to share these works with the class. I marked down that you turned them in, but I would still like you to share them. It is am important part of being an art teacher to keep making your own art and to be able to discuss it. This artwork is very personal and about your life. This is a way that you can invite your students lives into the classroom. Their lives and stories are relevant, and do not have to be left outside the classroom door.
